Spencer Dinwiddie has proven to be absolutely crucial for the Dallas Mavericks during this playoff run. While players like Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson have garnered most of the attention with their heroics, Dinwiddie has been a solid player for them, scoring big points for them throughout this run.

The Mavericks are going to play in the Western Conference Finals thanks in large part to Spencer Dinwiddie's performances. And if they win the NBA championship, he has a bonus coming his way. But that bonus is far from what most fans would expect.

If the Dallas Mavericks were to win the NBA championship next month, Spencer Dinwiddie would be owed a $1 bonus according to his contract.

Apparently, he negotiated the contract when he signed with the Washington Wizards in the offseason, not thinking the team would win the NBA championship anytime soon. That contract was traded to the Mavericks, where the NBA championship has now become an actual possibility.

Dinwiddie earned more of a bonus just by making the second round of the NBA playoffs, earning $100,000. And if he were to make the NBA Finals, he will earn another $400,000 from bonuses.

Dinwiddie may regret adding that bonus clause in his contract, but considering the possibility that he could win a championship, the money will not be as important for him right now.

Stephen A. Smith recently apologized to Spencer Dinwiddie and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks role players for doubting them in their second-round series against the Phoenix Suns, an apology that Dinwiddie quickly accepted.

Dinwiddie and the Mavericks will play the Golden State Warriors tonight in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. With both teams having tremendous attacking players and great defenders, the series will be an exciting one to watch.

Will we see the Warriors resurrect their dynasty, or will the Mavericks defeat the Warriors to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011? We will find out soon enough.
