Spurs Sign Diakite to Two-Way Contract: Details

JAN 1 SPURS SIGN DIAKITE The San Antonio Spurs are adding to their roster.

The team announced Monday that it had signed Mamadi Diakite to a two-way contract. The move comes after Charles Bediako was waived last week.

Diakite, 26, won a National Championship in 2019 with the Virginia Cavaliers and has 49 games of NBA experience with the Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers.

DEC 17 SAN ANTONIO SPURS HONOR TONY PARKER during halftime of their game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Frost Bank Center now has number nine retired with the "Hall of Fame" badge.

Parker thanked the fans, saying, “You’re by far, by far, the best fans in the world…San Antonio is home for me and it will always be my home.” 

In 17 seasons with the Spurs, Parker was the 2007 Finals MVP, a six-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA player. 

He remains the Spurs' all-time assist leader with 6,829.

DEC 15 MURRAY LIKES CRYPTIC TWEETS. Former All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray "liked" two Tweets suggesting that he is unhappy in Atlanta. 

The first, from user @CbTurner6 suggested that he was not getting enough playing time. The second, from his father @TeamMurray05 just criticized the organization. 

Murray is under contract until 2027, when he can exercise his player option. 

DEC 14 SPURS SIGN DAVID DUKE JR. The San Antonio Spurs are adding to their roster.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Spurs are signing Delaware Blue Coats guard David Duke Jr. to a two-way deal.

Duke played 45 games for the Brooklyn Nets from 2021-23.

DEC 13 LEBRON VS. WEMBY POSTPONED After going through what Los Angeles Lakers coach Darvin Ham called an “ongoing process,” superstar forward LeBron James will be held out for his team’s first matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. 

James is still nursing a calf injury, and the team opted to keep him out for the second night of a back-to-back. He will likely return to action Friday for the Lakers’ second game against the Spurs, barring any setbacks. 

Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Davis will both play.

“The Extraterrestrial” and “The King” will have to wait to face off. 

DEC 10 SPURS MAKE G LEAGUE SWAP The San Antonio Spurs are shuttling players back and forth from Austin and San Antonio.

The team announced that it would be sending Charles Bassey to Austin and Sandro Mamukelashvili back to San Antonio.

Mamukelashvili scored 34 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in Saturday's win against the Texas Legends, proving he belongs with San Antonio.

DEC 9 BLAKE WESLEY, SANDRO MAMUKELASHVILI ASSIGNED TO AUSTIN The San Antonio Spurs are making two slight roster changes.

Second-year guard Blake Wesley and third-year center Sandro Mamukelashvili are heading to the Austin Spurs ahead of their game on Saturday against the Texas Legends. The Spurs are off until Monday, so Wesley and Mamukelashvili could be back in time to be available without missing a game.
