Steph Curry is in his 17th NBA season, and despite the mileage, he opened the 2025-26 campaign in elite form. Through the early stretch of the season, he averaged 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4 assists per game, continuing to power the Golden State Warriors’ offense at an MVP-level pace. His strong start, however, was disrupted when he suffered an unexpected setback during a loss to the Houston Rockets.
Late in the fourth quarter of that matchup, Curry absorbed contact on a drive and suffered a right quadriceps contusion. He exited the game with 35 seconds left and was ruled out pending further evaluation. The Warriors later confirmed that he is expected to miss “around a week or a little more” while the quad heals, temporarily pausing what had been one of the strongest openings to a season in his career.
As Curry works toward returning to the lineup, he received encouraging family-related news on Sunday. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Warriors plan to re-sign Seth Curry on Monday for the remainder of the season.
“Seth Curry intends to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on Monday to a deal for the remainder of the season, sources tell ESPN. Curry – who shot an NBA-best 45.6% from 3-point range in 2024-25 – joins older brother Stephen on the Warriors for his 12th season in the league,” Charania wrote.

The move arrives barely two months after Golden State initially waived Seth Curry before the start of the season, a procedural decision tied to roster and cap-management timing. His return gives the Warriors a rare opportunity: for the first time, brothers Steph and Seth Curry are poised to appear together in an NBA regular-season game.
Seth Curry, who enters his 12th season, has played for nine franchises, including the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets . He holds career averages of 10 points and 2 rebounds per game, with a 43.3% mark from 3-point range — one of the league’s most efficient long-range resumes. That's no surprise considering Steph Curry is the league's all-time leader in made 3-pointers.
This will not be Steph’s first stint alongside a family member; his brother-in-law Damion Lee was a key Warriors contributor and won a championship with him. Now, Golden State hopes the Curry brothers can chase another title together, this time as teammates on the NBA stage for the first time.
The Warriors (11-10) are back in action at 11 p.m. ET Tuesday when they host the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder (19-1).
