Steph Curry, Warriors Receive Good News on Tuesday

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors finally busted out of their recent slump with a much-needed 134-117 win over the Utah Jazz on Monday. The Warriors entered that matchup after losing three in a row, and the victory got them back on track as the new NBA season progresses.

Golden State was without Draymond Green against the Jazz. The former Defensive Player of the Year was forced to sit out due to a foot injury. Green also missed the Warriors’ 110-96 loss to the Miami Heat on Wednesday, Nov. 19, due to an illness.

On Tuesday, the Warriors announced a crucial update on Green ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets.

Green has been a pivotal piece for the Warriors yet again this season. He’s played in 16 games so far, averaging 8.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.6 triples in 28.7 minutes per contest. The 35-year-old is already in his 14th season in the NBA, but he still remains one of the best defenders in the league.

This is exactly why Tuesday’s development is good news for Curry and the Warriors. On Monday, Golden State listed Green as questionable to play against the Rockets due to a right midfoot sprain. The team announced on Tuesday, however, that Green has been upgraded to probable, via the official injury report.

This only means that, barring any unforeseen setbacks, Green should be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Rockets, who currently possess the best offensive rating (122.5) in the entire league.

It is worth noting, however, that Kevin Durant will not face his former team. The Rockets superstar is dealing with a personal matter and will miss his second straight game on Wednesday.

Durant won two championships alongside Curry and Green during his three-year stint with the Warriors. Curry and Green, however, have won a total of four together, making them one of the most iconic pairings in league history.
