Stephen Curry Already Eager to Compare Jimmy Butler to Warriors' Legend

Since adding Jimmy Butler into the fold, the Golden State Warriors are a solid 5-1 and have risen up the standings enough to keep their playoff hopes alive. Once in the postseason, it's clear that this Warriors team is incredibly dangerous and will prevent a tough first-round matchup for any team.

Butler, so far, has been exactly what the Warriors needed. As a hard-nosed star who can do a little bit of everything and bring energy, Butler is one of the better players in NBA history but has yet to win a ring, and there is hope he can finally achieve that alongside Stephen Curry.

As the Warriors raised Andre Iguodala's No. 9 into the rafters at Chase Center, Curry reflected on how the Finals MVP and Butler share some similarities.

"If it impacts winning then we're off to a good start," said Curry of the Butler and Iguodala comparisons. "They're different players, different resumes, different styles, but when they're on the floor usually good things happen. You love players like that who understand the game, have a high IQ, and lift the level of everybody around them, that's such a hard thing to do and such a commodity around the league, but then you have a superstar like Jimmy who's done it year after year after year, you feel it right away."

Butler, like Iguodala, provides a steady, defensive-minded hand but can also take over the game when needed. Both were clearly Robins to Curry's Batman, but both are high-level players who prioritize team success over the individual.

The Warriors will enjoy a day off on Monday before taking on the Charlotte Hornets in the Bay on Tuesday, aiming to win their fourth game in a row for the first time since early November.
