The Golden State Warriors are facing an uphill battle in the upcoming play-in tournament to secure a spot in the 2026 playoffs. But despite the odds being against them, it looks like Stephen Curry isn’t worried about that when he goofed around with Jimmy Butler.
The 2025-2026 season did not play out as the Warriors had envisioned. Butler was out for the year after tearing his ACL. Curry was out for a long stretch due to a concerning knee issue. Add a couple more woes from their roster, and the Dubs only finished the regular season with a 37-45 record.
But when talking about the mood within the Dubs? It looks like they are ready for the challenge. Before facing the Clippers, Stephen Curry went nuts after Butler airballed a three during pre-game warmups.

This will be the same Clippers team they will face in their opening play-in tournament match. Should they get past the Kawhi Leonard-led squad, they will have another chance to prolong their season by winning against the loser of the Suns-Blazers matchup for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
It’s quite odd that it took quite a long time for Stephen and Seth Curry to play on the same team. Truth be told, the younger Curry is a phenomenal shooter and could have been useful for the Warriors in past years. Now that they are finally teammates, Steph talked about what he truly felt about playing alongside his brother.
“That was special,” Stephen Curry said after playing with his brother, Seth Curry. “We’ve both had a very difficult year… I was joking calling us the ‘Rehab Brothers.’ But to have that moment, coming out of the timeout, talking about matchups… I was having flashbacks to high school. That was a dream come true.”
The siblings were both out for long stretches this season. And that’s why it took a long time for them to play alongside the court.
