Return always feels special when there’s something bigger, better, and personal out there on the other side of the finish line. For Stephen Curry, however, there was plenty of it.
The Golden State Warriors superstar’s return on Sunday came with the usual expectations. After missing 27 games, all eyes were on how he’d look, whether the rhythm would be there, and how much he could give the Warriors this close to the play-in.
He delivered 29 points in limited minutes and nearly ended the night with a game-winner against the Houston Rockets. But when he spoke afterward, a more personal connection to the game showed up clearly in his eyes.
“That was special,” Curry said after playing with his brother, Seth Curry. “We’ve both had a very difficult year… I was joking calling us the ‘Rehab Brothers.’ But to have that moment, coming out of the timeout, talking about matchups… I was having flashbacks to high school. That was a dream come true.”
“So it was that was a dream come true. To be honest, it hadn't really sunk in yet”

The two hadn’t played together in an organized setting since their Charlotte Christian days, which made the moment feel genuine rather than staged.
From a basketball standpoint, the Warriors needed this version of their star. He looked comfortable after shaking off some early rust, and his presence immediately changed how the game flowed.
But beyond the numbers, this was one of those rare nights where something simple carried more weight. Two brothers, both coming off tough stretches, sharing the court again at the highest level.
For most of the season, the idea of Stephen and Seth Curry sharing the court has felt more like a “what if” than something real. Injuries on both sides kept pushing that moment further away.
But for Seth, it actually means something far more than the game itself.
“Wanna get out there with him at least one time and experience that and put on a show for the fans,” he said. “I know that’s one of his motivating factors too… to see us out there on the court together.”

He was right, though. The younger guard has barely been available this season, appearing in just a handful of games, while the older brother has been out for over two months dealing with a knee issue.
There’s still uncertainty around timing, and nothing is guaranteed. But if both are healthy at the same time, even briefly, it’s something they both clearly want to experience.
