Stephen Curry wasn’t pleased with how the Steve Kerr and Draymond Green altercation overshadowed the Golden State Warriors’ night.
Stephen Curry admitted his frustration after an internal dispute dominated headlines following what he felt was one of the Golden State Warriors’ most complete displays of the season.
Despite a convincing victory over the Orlando Magic, discussion quickly shifted away from the result and toward a heated exchange between head coach Steve Kerr and veteran forward Draymond Green.
Speaking to reporters postgame, Curry made it clear he felt the moment had been taken away from the team’s on-court progress.
He described it as disappointing that a two-game winning streak and a solid all-round performance were being eclipsed by questions about the argument. Curry acknowledged why the issue was being raised but stressed that the mood inside the locker room was far more positive than the narrative outside. According to him, players were upbeat, enjoying the win and continuing their work as a group, even as the conversation around the team turned increasingly negative.
Curry’s comments carried extra weight given his usual reluctance to address internal matters publicly, prompting speculation about whether the situation could escalate.
Golden State has experienced similar flashpoints before, most notably the well-documented clash between Green and Kevin Durant during the 2018–19 season, which preceded Durant’s eventual departure. While those issues were later resolved on a personal level, they disrupted what many viewed as a historic roster.
For now, the hope within the organisation is that the disagreement between Kerr and Green proves to be a short-lived distraction rather than the start of a deeper fracture, as the potential loss of either figure would represent a significant setback for the franchise.
