Stephen Curry knows the clock is ticking. The Warriors icon turned 38 in March, and the Golden State Warriors have won only two playoff series since lifting the 2022 NBA title. With injuries limiting Curry to just 43 games this season, the franchise doesn’t really have time for a slow rebuild. One more serious run has to happen now.
That urgency is why the Warriors’ offseason is already one of the league’s biggest storylines. The Warriors still have Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler, but that core likely needs another elite name to truly contend again. And from the sound of it, Curry expects the front office to go big rather than play it safe.
Per Marc Spears, Curry reportedly believes a star-level addition is coming this summer, possibly someone in the Giannis Antetokounmpo or LeBron James tier. Antetokounmpo remains under contract in Milwaukee, while James is heading toward free agency if he doesn’t retire or re-sign with the Lakers.
“I think he knows, whether it’s a Giannis, whether it’s LeBron James, there’s going to be somebody next summer, that’s going to join him, join Jimmy, join Draymond, assuming he’s still there too.”

The Warriors have been linked to both stars before. This time, though, the smoke feels stronger. If the Warriors want one last championship push, this summer could define the Curry era’s final act.
Curry is adding another win off the court. The Warriors star-produced animated film GOAT is heading to Netflix in the U.S. on May 14, giving fans a fresh family sports comedy to stream.
Released earlier in 2026, GOAT became a box-office hit, earning around $191 million worldwide. The movie features Caleb McLaughlin in the lead role, plus voices from Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, and Curry himself. NBA names like Angel Reese and Dwyane Wade also appear.
Stephen Curry previously told USA TODAY the film was built to inspire families and bring generations together. With strong reviews and big names attached, GOAT could find an even bigger audience once it lands on Netflix.
