Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors stole home-court advantage in their second round seres against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors defeated the Timberwolves 99-88 in Game 1 of the second round series.
Golden State has playing with incredible momentum, having defeated the Houston Rockets in the first round, escaping with a seeding upset. Houston was ranked as the No. 2 team in the Western Conference standings.
Now, in a matchup against the No. 6 Timberwolves, Golden State holds the edge.
While the Warriors are seeking an NBA title with a big three of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, they received unfortunate news early in the second round series.
On Tuesday, Curry was ruled out of the game with a hamstring injury.
According to Warriors reporter Anthony Slater, Golden State announced Curry is day-to-day and an MRI will reveal a further update on Wednesday.

As Slater explained, Kerr spoke with the media after the game and mentioned that Curry was "crushed" about the injury, which may very well plague Golden State's success moving forward.
He finished the Game 1 victory over the Rockets with 13 points, one rebound and one assist in 13 minutes.
Kerr spoke further on the injury from Curry after the game, mentioning that it's "hard to imagine" the Golden State Warriors guard will be available on Thursday.
As fans and media personnel await a potential MRI, the Warriors will prepare for a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. Kerr spoke on the team's decision on Curry after game.
"We’re definitely game-planning for him to not be available on Thursday," Kerr said, per Ben Golliver. "We don’t know yet. With a hamstring, it’s hard to imagine he would play Thursday."
