The Golden State Warriors' season came to an unfortunate end at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The road to even get to the NBA Playoffs was a tough and grueling one.
Golden State was in the tank before trading for Jimmy Butler, but went 23-7 after acquiring him.
Even still, it wasn't enough to make the playoffs outright, so they had to participate in the NBA Play-In Tournament and defeat the Memphis Grizzlies to earn the No. 7 seed.
The Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets, but the series went to seven games.
As a result, Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals and Game 6 of the opening round meant the Warriors had to play three games in five days.
While the Warriors took Game 1, Stephen Curry exited the game with a hamstring injury.
When asked, Steve Kerr attributed Curry's injury to the playoff schedule in a recent piece by Yahoo Sports' Tom Haberstroh.
"Kerr said he asked Rick Celebrini, the Warriors' director of sports medicine, if Curry's injury had “anything to do” with [playing 3 games in 5 days]. Celebrini responded emphatically: “One hundred percent (...), if he had an extra day or two… we can’t prove this, but I have no doubt based on our understanding of the scientific literature that the hamstring injury was the result of inadequate recovery and fatigue."

There was hope that Curry could have returned in some capacity if the Warriors had been able to extend the series to six games.
Unfortunately, the Warriors dropped the remaining four games and all Curry could do was watch.
They'll hope to revamp parts of the roster and make a hopefully healthy run at the title next year.
