Steve Kerr had the opportunity to coach Anthony Edwards last summer as the Minnesota Timberwolves star took part in Team USA's gold medal quest in the Paris Olympics.
While this may have given the Golden State Warriors coach an inside look at how Edwards operates, it was far from enough to hand Kerr and the Warriors an advantage against the three-time All-Star in their second-round NBA playoffs series.
Edwards was a force for Minnesota as he led his team to a 4-1 series win over the Warriors. These two teams faced off one final time on Wednesday night, with the Wolves able to close out the series at home with a convincing 121-110 victory.
Shortly after the final buzzer, as the players on both sides exchanged pleasantries following a hard-fought series, Kerr was seen exchanging words with Edwards on the court.
It looked like the Warriors shot-caller was congratulating Edwards for an incredible series in what was an endearing moment between them.

While the mics were not able to catch exactly what was said during their brief exchange, what is clear is that there's nothing but mutual respect between the two.
Unfortunately for Kerr, he will now be heading back home with his team empty-handed and with broken hearts. It's back to the drawing board for them in what could potentially be a pivotal offseason for this franchise.
Edwards and Co., on the other hand, live to fight another day. They now await the winner of the West semis between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets. It's OKC who's up in that series, 3-2, with Game 6 in Denver scheduled for Thursday night.
