Steve Kerr Shares Fantasy Football Message After Embarrassing Finish

Fantasy football isn’t for the faint of heart, but Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, like many others, keeps getting involved—because, why not?

Just before the Warriors’ Friday night matchup against the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center in San Francisco, Kerr shared with reporters a website's brutally honest take on his 2025 fantasy football season.

Apparently, Kerr finished last in his league in large part due to poor decisions.

"We finished our season last week and the website updated all of the rankings," Kerr said (via a video shared by Anthony Slater of ESPN).

"I finished 12th in coaching rankings. And so the website said, ‘Coach Kerr had plenty of decisions to regret after his lineup choices left him as the worst gameday coach in the league.’ This is a time for me to take a long look in the mirror. I have to reassess everything.”

The 60-year-old Kerr didn’t reveal any specific mistakes that sank his fantasy football team, though some of the struggles may have stemmed from his draft strategy. He also probably got burned by his sit-and-start decisions.

Kerr can look forward to the next NFL season for a strong fantasy football bounceback, but his main focus right now is on the real world, particularly his role as the Warriors’ head coach.

Golden State entered Friday eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 20-18 record following a 120-113 win at home over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Warriors are also looking to avenge their 121-116 loss to Russell Westbrook and company in the first meeting this season with the Kings on Nov. 5.
