Steve Kerr Shares Verdict On Head Coaching Future After Warriors’ Season Exit

The Golden State Warriors faced an uphill climb even to make the NBA Playoffs this season.

At one point, the Warriors were the No. 12 seed in a loaded Western Conference. That's when the Warriors decided to make a splash, trading Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson to the Miami Heat for Jimmy Butler.

After that, the Warriors surged, but could not make the playoffs outright.

Steve Kerr shares decision on future

The Warriors were forced to play the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Play-In Tournament and won to become the No. 7 seed in the West.

In the series against the Houston Rockets, Jimmy Butler got hurt and forced Head Coach Steve Kerr to go to his bench and play Jonathan Kuminga, who Kerr had benched down the stretch of the regular season.

After Stephen Curry's injury in the following series against Minnesota, Kuminga was once again called upon and performed admirably.

While the Warriors' three core players are under contract through 2027, Kerr is entering the final season of his contract, which he spoke about after the season.

"At this point, I’m year to year. I love my job. It’s so much fun," Kerr said. "I loved the season. This was a really gratifying year in terms of players' commitment to each other, their ability to get through individual adversity."

The Warriors, as we know them, really started with the arrival of Kerr.

Before him, the Warriors were a good team under Marc Jackson, but became a great team when Kerr took over.

It would be difficult at this point to see Curry play for anyone else, as many give Kerr the credit for unlocking and tapping into Curry's true potential.
