The Suns are exercising their $2.58MM team option on Jamaree Bouyea for the 2026/27 season, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype ( via Twitter). Bouyea’s salary for next season will remain non-guaranteed, Scotto notes.
A 6’2″ guard who played his college ball for San Francisco, Bouyea has bounced around the NBA over his first four seasons, with Phoenix being his sixth different team.
Bouyea opened last season in the NBA G League with the Spurs’ affiliate team in Austin. He impressed at the NBAGL level and earned a call-up to the Suns, who signed him to a two-way contract in mid-November.
Bouyea, who recently turned 27 years old, was converted to a two-year standard contract in early March. He averaged 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 14.0 minutes per game (46 appearances).
The Suns tentatively have 14 players on standard contracts, including the not-yet-finalized Miles Bridges trade and No. 30 overall pick Koa Peat. They’re rumored to be looking at backcourt depth in free agency.
