Suns Have One of Easiest NBA Schedules in February
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns finished January on quite the high note, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 136-120 and closing out the month having won their final 14-of-19 games.

Phoenix's star trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal has remained relatively healthy during that stretch while other players on the roster such as Grayson Allen, Eric Gordon, Jusuf Nurkic and others have taken advantage of opportunities when given.

The Suns now approach the month of February with a 28-20 record, good enough for No. 6 in the West.

There's plenty of opportunity for Phoenix to climb the standings, and according to NBA.com, they'll have a good shot of doing so.

John Schuhmann went through and ranked each team's strength of schedule for February - the Suns finished with the fifth-easiest slate of games with an opponent win percentage of 0.447.

"The Suns are tied for the fewest games played (they’re 9-11) against teams that enter the month with winning records, and only three of their 11 February games are against that group. (Their March-April schedule will be a real test.)" wrote Schuhmann.

"They have the league’s easiest February schedule regarding opposing defenses, with their next eight games against teams that rank no higher than 17th defensively."

Phoenix finished behind the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans for easiest schedules in the league.

The Suns are six games back from first in the West and are currently tied with the fifth-seeded Sacramento Kings in that regard, though they're 4.5 games back from the No. 4 seeded Denver Nuggets

Phoenix was just 19-18 entering January. They'll play the Atlanta Hawks next on Friday.
