The Phoenix Suns just had to endure quite a disappointing season. Considering their roster and payroll, many thought the Suns would be contending for a seed in the top half of the Western Conference.

Instead, fans of the Suns were left disappointed, as the Suns struggled to keep their heads above water. The Suns were swept out of the NBA Playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round last season and followed up by finishing as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference.

Suns' insider calls out Kendrick Perkins for Devin Booker take

The offseason has already brought about significant changes for the Suns. They fired head coach Mike Budenholzer and hired Jordan Ott to replace him. It's interesting to note that Ott, like general manager Brian Gregory and owner Mat Ishbia, has ties to Michigan State University.

There have been rumors that the Suns will look to trade Kevin Durant this summer. However, ESPN analyst and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins suggests Devin Booker could also be on the move.

As a result, Suns insider Gerald Bourguet didn't hold back after hearing Perkins' take regarding Booker.

"I try to avoid sharing clips from certain people, but sometimes you have to call out braindead analysis," Bourguet wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "We can’t bash NBA stars for not being loyal but also rip them for wanting to win with the team that drafted them, loves them, pays them well and is in a good location. So dumb."

This kind of conflict isn't new regarding national media and media assigned to particular teams. Bourguet's job is to cover strictly the Suns, while Perkins has to speak on many more topics.

In cases like these, many have always referred to beat writers and local writers rather than what a national personality thinks of their team. At this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Suns move Durant. But Booker is a home-grown talent, and the team may be more reluctant to trade him.
