Suns Likely To Trade Or Buy Out Bradley Beal

The Phoenix Suns will either trade guard Bradley Beal or buy out his contract following the trade of Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, per John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports.

“I went on a limb like three months ago and said there’s a zero percent chance that Bradley Beal is gonna be back,” Gambadoro said on the Kevin O’Connor Show. “I’m gonna stick with that. I don’t think there’s any scenario where Bradley Beal comes back and plays for the Suns.”

In exchange for Durant, the Suns are receiving Rockets leading scorer Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 overall pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft, and five second-rounders.

Phoenix already had a fairly crowded backcourt, and even more so now after adding Green to Devin Booker.

The big issue, of course, is that Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract — just one of two NBA players to have such a clause. (LeBron James is the other.)

Gambadoro said earlier this month that the Suns “100 percent” do not want Beal back.

A three-time All-Star, Beal will make $53,666,270 next season. He has a player option worth $57,128,610 for the 2026-27 season.

Beal turns 32 at the end of the month and has compiled career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 801 games with the Suns and Washington Wizards.
