Suns Predicted to Send Devin Booker to Rockets in Blockbuster Trade

The Phoenix Suns officially began a rebuild this offseason as they broke apart their star trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Phoenix began their offseason by trading Durant to the Houston Rockets for a package centered around Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft they used to select Khaman Maluach.

They then bought out Bradley Beal’s contract, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency.

After these moves, the only star remaining from their big three is Booker who is set to be a key piece of their future after they signed him to a massive contract extension this offseason.

While Booker is expected to be a key piece of the Suns’ rebuild, the star guard continues to be in trade rumors despite his loyalty to the organization this offseason.

Suns predicted to trade Devin Booker to Rockets

One team that has continued to be linked to Booker in a potential trade is the Rockets and Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently released a mock trade that would send him to Houston.

In the trade, the Suns would send Devin Booker to the Rockets in exchange for Fred VanVleet, Reed Sheppard, Tari Eason, Steven Adams and a 2027 first-round pick.

While the Suns would acquire two young players in Eason and Sheppard that they could desperately use for their rebuild, it is likely that they would want a much larger package in a trade for their star and they would also likely want their own first-round picks back that Houston owns.

Because of this, this trade is highly unlikely to happen as Booker has continued to stay loyal to the Suns and Phoenix has shown no signs of trading him.

If the Suns were for some reason willing to accept this offer, adding Sheppard and Eason would be solid additions to their roster amid their rebuild while VanVleet would give them a much-needed true point guard.

The additions of VanVleet and Adams could also be used to flip for more young talent and draft capital in later trades.

While that may be the case, the Suns have shown no interest in trading Booker this offseason and if they were to change their minds, it would likely take a much larger trade package than this for them to accept it.
