Suns Predicted to Send Devin Booker to Rockets to Reunite With Kevin Durant in Blockbuster Trade

It has been a busy offseason for the Phoenix Suns as they have completely overhauled their roster after their star trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal struggled over the past few seasons.

Of course, the Suns missed the playoffs last season and felt it was time to break up their big three as they traded Durant to the Houston Rockets for a package centered around Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the pick used to select Khaman Maluach 10th overall in the 2025 draft.

They also bought out Beal’s contract, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers for next season.

Now only Booker remains as the Suns’ lone star player and he is set to be the focal point of their future after they signed him to a massive extension this offseason.

While the Suns have already made major moves this summer, more moves could be on the way before the start of next season and ahead of the trade deadline in February.

Suns predicted to trade Devin Booker to Rockets

With this in mind, Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes recently released a mock trade that would see the Suns send Booker to the Rockets to reunite with Durant in exchange for some key draft picks.

In the trade, the Suns would send Booker to Houston for Fred VanVleet, Reed Sheppard, Steven Adams, Jeff Green and Phoenix’s first-round picks in 2027 and 2029.

Of course, Booker cannot be traded until January and even so, it is highly unlikely that Phoenix will move him, though they would add some key pieces in this deal.

While many would highlight the addition of Sheppard to Phoenix’s roster in this trade along with some key trade pieces in VanVleet, Adams and Green, the main headliner of the deal is the Suns re-acquiring their first-round picks in 2027 and 2029.

With the Suns not currently owning their own draft capital, the Rockets are in the driver’s seat with Phoenix’s future in question during their rebuild.

Because of this, the only way Houston would likely return Phoenix’s future picks is by the Suns sending them Booker, who the Rockets have been targeting for many years.

Despite this, it is hard to imagine the Suns trading Booker, especially after he signed a contract extension with the franchise with them not likely to be a contender anytime in the near future but if Phoenix wants their picks back, trading their star may be the only way for them to acquire them.
