The Phoenix Suns broke up the Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal at the start of the offseason. The first to go was Durant, who was traded to the Houston Rockets. In return, the Suns received Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and a few future picks.

Following that, they coordinated with Beal, who agreed to a contract buyout. The three-time All-Star signed with the Los Angeles Clippers as soon as he was able to. Leaving Booker as the only star left in Phoenix.

However, the Suns have no intention of parting ways with their franchise star. Even the former Kentucky standout has expressed his desire to continue his career with the team that drafted him.

Trading Booker Could Recoup The Draft Picks They Traded Away

When they traded for Durant, the Suns gave up four first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets. Following that, the front office surrendered four first-round pick swaps and six second-round picks to the Washington Wizards for Beal. When the two stars left, the Suns didn't get anywhere near that value in return.

Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes urges the Suns to give up their franchise star, Devin Booker. Given that he's in his prime, Phoenix could potentially recoup its lost draft picks from the Rockets. After acquiring KD, Houston became the favorite to come out of the Western Conference.

Hughes proposed a trade idea that would lead Houston to send a plethora of role players and picks to Phoenix. Here's the proposed trade package : Houston Rockets acquire Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns for Fred VanVleet, Reed Sheppard, Steven Adams, Jeff Green, 2027 first-round pick, 2029 first-round pick.

However, the Suns have repeatedly expressed their desire to keep and build around the four-time All-Star. But stranger things have happened in the NBA, and only time can tell if both parties will want to continue their partnership.
