The Atlanta Hawks were hoping to use home-court advantage to keep their season alive and force a Game 7 against the New York Knicks.
The Knicks had other ideas – sprinting out to a 40-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and 83-36 at halftime in Atlanta. The Hawks played the Knicks closer in the second half, losing the last 24 minutes by only four points but still falling by a staggering score of 140-89.
The Hawks actually led 11-9 in the first quarter before OG Anunoby started a 31-4 run with a three from one of Karl-Anthony Town’s 10 assists, scoring 14 of his game-high 29 in the first quarter. Anunoby’s 29 points came in just 27 total minutes of action, and all 15 Knicks scored at least two points in the decimation.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Anunoby became the 32nd player to score at least 25 points in less than 30 minutes in an NBA Playoff game multiple times. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
