The Golden State Warriors are terrible

The 2026-27 NBA season is still young, but after two games, I feel good saying that the Golden State Warriors are terrible, and this team is once again going nowhere this year.

All summer long, I wrote a series of articles about the Warriors and why they should have traded superstar Stephen Curry to kickstart their rebuild instead of doubling down on an old, injury-prone roster.

But the Warriors didn’t listen to me, and now this terrible team is paying the price for it.

Warriors Have Looked Horrible This Season

Through the first two games of the season, Golden State is 0-2, with a blowout loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and a pathetic defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies, where they coughed up a 12-point lead in the last five minutes of the game in what can only be described as a soul-crushing loss.

Curry, who re-signed with the Warriors on a two-year contract extension last month, must be wondering why he decided to do that when this team is going nowhere.

The Warriors have one of the oldest teams in the league, and it’s just not working anymore.

The duo of Curry and Draymond Green, crucial to the team’s dynasty years that saw them win four NBA Championships, is no longer a winning tag team.

Jimmy Butler III and Kristaps Porzingis, who were brought in to give Curry reinforcements, are both out indefinitely, meaning the Warriors are down two of their better players with no end in sight.

Brandin Podziemski, who just signed a contract himself, has looked bad so far this season, and the decision to give him a nine-figure extension already looks questionable.

The only bright spot for the Warriors early in the season has been the play of rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg.

Otherwise, this team is an absolute mess, and Curry and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr — who signed a two-year contract extension this summer himself — have to be questioning why they committed to a once-elite NBA franchise that looks like a shell of itself.
