After the Spurs lost Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, head coach Mitch Johnson said Victor Wembanyama would need to take more than 15 shots if the Spurs were going to beat the Thunder.
But in Game 7, that’s exactly what happened.
Wembanyama scored 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and 3-for-5 from three-point range. This time, six other Spurs also scored in double-figures as San Antonio beat OKC 111-103 on the road to advance to the NBA Finals.
Julian Champagnie – who was one of just 18 players to appear in all 82 regular season games this year – was the Spurs second-leading scorer with 20 points, hitting 6-of-8 shots from deep and pitching in six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
The Spurs will face off against the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals, a team they split the regular season series with.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Champagnie has a history of lighting up the Knicks this season, hitting a career-high (and Spurs single-game record) 11 three-pointers in the 134-132 win over New York on New Year’s Eve. With that being said, can you name the last player to hit 10 three-pointers in a game for each NBA franchise?
Good luck!
