Despite 29 points from Jalen Brunson and a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double from Josh Hart, the New York Knicks blew a 14-point lead at home and fell 107-106 to Atlanta in Game 2 of their First Round series.
Now, with the series shifting to Atlanta, one player who finds himself under fire is center Karl-Anthony Towns. KAT scored 18 points and hauled in eight rebounds in Game 2, but didn’t score in the fourth quarter after dropping 14 in the third. Towns had a team-first response when asked about his lack of offensive aggressiveness in the final frame.
“The opportunity just didn’t come around to shoot it,” Towns said.
“At the end of the day, I trust everyone in this locker room to shoot the ball. That opportunity wasn’t there for me in the 4th and it’s fine.”
While fans would be equally upset if Towns forced up bad shots, the Knicks will also need him to provide scoring help for Brunson if they want to make a deep playoff run.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Towns has proven time and again he can be a highly productive player, averaging more than 20 points and 10 rebounds-per-game for the seventh time in his career this year. With that being said, can you name every player to average 20 and 10 for a season in five or more campaigns?
Good luck!
