The 'Most 40-point games in a season' quiz

The NBA is finally back in action following the All-Star break tonight, and the schedule is headlined by a Top-3 Eastern Conference clash between the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks

Jalen Brunson and the Knicks are welcoming the top-seeded Pistons into Madison Square Garden, who they have yet to beat in two meetings so far in 2025-26. The good news for New York fans is that the Knicks entered the All-Star break on a heater.  They won 10 of their final 12 games heading into the break, with Brunson averaging 23.7 points and six assists-per-game with two 40-point performances.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Brunson has 22 40-point games in his career, posting 10 of those in the 2023-24 campaign. With that being said, how many of the players since the NBA/ABA merger (since 1976-77) with at least 10 40-point games in one season can you name in six minutes?

Good luck!
