The 'Most 40-point NBA games' quiz

Happy 27th birthday to six-time NBA All-Star, five-time All-NBA selection and 2023-24 scoring champion, Luka Doncic!

Apart from his brilliance on the floor, Doncic will forever be tied to two of the most discussed trades in NBA history. On draft night in 2018, he was selected by the Atlanta Hawks before being sent to Dallas for fourth-overall pick Trae Young. Doncic immediately became the Mavs franchise cornerstone, and as a rookie averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists-per-game en route to the Rookie of the Year award.

In his 6+ seasons with the Mavericks, he averaged 28.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists-per-game and led Dallas to their first NBA Finals since 2010-11. But ahead of the 2025 trade deadline, the Mavericks and Lakers shocked the basketball world by making a deal that was headlined by Doncic heading to L.A. for veteran center Anthony Davis.

Doncic’s first full-season with the Lakers has been up-and-down, and while they are 10 games above .500 and Luka’s 32.7 points-per-game lead the NBA this season, the Lakers are just one game ahead of the Phoenix Suns in the final non-Play-In spot in the Western Conference.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Doncic has 55 40-point games in his eight-year career, already good for 19th-most in NBA history. With that being said, can you name the NBA players with 40 40-point games in their career?

Good luck!
