Since LeBron James made it official that he would leave the Los Angeles Lakers and become a free agent this offseason, his likely final career destination has dominated the NBA rumor mill.
Now, the speculation can stop after the NBA’s all-time leading scorer signed a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option for the second season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
While the Golden State Warriors were the early favorites to land the King and his former teams in Cleveland and Miami generated plenty of interest, LeBron decided to team up with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and fellow newcomer Jaylen Brown.
James, who turns 42 this season, missed the first chunk of his final campaign with the Lakers while dealing with sciatica and was limited to a career-low 33.2 minutes-per-game. He was still effective in those minutes, averaging 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds-per-contest.
Given that he won’t need to be the Sixers primary option if things go according to plan, he has an intriguing opportunity to bring Philly its first NBA title since 1983.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Points in the NBA Finals are one of the few scoring records that don’t belong to LeBron James, with the four-time Finals MVP sitting in second place with 1,562. With that being said, can you name the players to score the most points in their NBA Finals career?
Good luck!
