There isn’t much left for Kevin Durant to achieve as an individual or on a team in the world of basketball, but the inception of the NBA Cup two years ago gave him another trophy to chase.

In his first two NBA Cup runs with the Phoenix Suns, Durant averaged 29 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists-per-game across six contests. But in 2023 they were bounced in the knockout stage before exiting in the group stage last year. Now he gets a chance with the Houston Rockets, who lost to the eventual-champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the semifinals last year.
