The 'NBA scoring champions' quiz

Happy 61st birthday to 10-time All-Star, eight-time All-Defensive team honoree, 1989 Rookie of the Year, 1994-95 MVP and two-time NBA champion, David “The Admiral,” Robinson!

Robinson was selected with the first-overall pick of the 1987 NBA Draft, but as a graduate of the Naval Academy, he didn’t make his San Antonio Spurs debut until 1989 after completing his military service. 

Beginning his professional basketball career at 24 years old, Robinson would become one of the most dominant big men in NBA history. He averaged at least 20 points and 10 rebounds-per-game in his first seven seasons while playing in at least 80 contests in six of those seven campaigns. 

Robinson won the NBA rebounding title win 1990-91 with 13.0, the blocks title with 4.5 in 1991-92 and the scoring title with 29.8 points-per-game in 1993-94. Despite his dominance early in his career, he didn’t win his first NBA title until the Spurs drafted another generational center in Tim Duncan out of Wake Forest. The pair won San Antonio’s first NBA title in 1999 and Robinson capped off his career with a second championship, retiring after the 2002-03 season. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Robinson is one of just two Spurs to win the NBA scoring title since the NBA/ABA merger in 1976-77. How many of the NBA scoring champions since then can you name in five minutes?
