The 'NBA season assist leaders' quiz

The Detroit Pistons have been at the top of the Eastern Conference for much of the regular season and Cade Cunningham has been a key reason why. But for at least two weeks, they’re going to have to adjust to life without their superstar as he recovers from a collapsed lung. 

Their first trial without Cunningham was a successful 117-95 win over the Washington Wizards to improve to 50-19 on the season with Jalen Duren leading the way. But with eight of their final 13 games against teams with winning-records headlined by clashes with the Lakers, Thunder and Timberwolves, the Pistons will get a look at the resilience of their club. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Cunningham made his second-consecutive All-Star game this season and was averaging 24.5 points and a career-high 9.9 assists-per-game. He also leads the NBA in total assists with 603 in 61 games. With that being said, can you name every NBA player with the most total assist for each season since the NBA/ABA merger?
