Happy 30th birthday to five-time NBA All-Star, three-time All-NBA selection and 2015-16 Rookie of the Year, Karl-Anthony Towns!
The Minnesota Timberwolves used their No. 1-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on Towns after his All-American season at Kentucky, and he rewarded the Timberwolves right away. In 2015-16, he started all 82 games of the season and averaged 18.3 points and 10.5 rebounds-per-game to become the second-consecutive Timberwolf to win Rookie of the Year.
Towns would play nine seasons in Minnesota before getting traded in a blockbuster deal to the New York Knicks in October, 2024. KAT and Co. finished third in the Eastern Conference and advanced to the Conference Finals before falling to the Indiana Pacers.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. 19 of the players selected with the top pick in the NBA Draft have gone on to win Rookie of the Year. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
