Despite Ace Bailey’s camp revealing on NBA Draft day that he did not want to end up with the Charlotte Hornets or Utah Jazz, the polarizing prospect from Rutgers is headed to Salt Lake City. The Jazz took the player thought to have the highest upside left on the board with the fifth-overall pick regardless of his apparent hesitation to play for the organization. Bailey showed he’s an incredibly gifted scorer in his freshman year at Rutgers, but he and fellow top-five draft pick Dylan Harper failed to make the NCAA tournament in their lone year at Rutgers. That, coupled with his somewhat strange pre-draft process of refusing to workout for teams and a “ meh” performance at the NBA Combine make him a prime “boom-or-bust,” candidate.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be taken fifth-overall in the NBA draft in the Lottery Era (since 1985) can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
