The 2000s seemed to be the golden era of power forwards in the NBA, as two superstars headlined it. Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are widely considered the two frontrunners and are often pitted against each other due to their rivalry.

One guy who saw both guys up and close numerous times is Amar'e Stoudemire. "S.T.A.T." himself was a real problem in his prime, but even he couldn't quite match TD and KG. On the latest episode of the "OG's" podcast, Amar'e shared which one of the two greats was a tougher matchup.

"Wow. You know what? Probably, I would say...I think Tim Duncan was tougher to me; the numbers he put up were quiet, and you never knew it until after the game. 35 and 19? What? Amar'e explained.

Tim worked in silence, while Kevin couldn't be missed

Stoudemire's description of Duncan is on point. Timmy was all about the fundamentals and on-court stuff, dominating easily and elegantly. It was a staple of Tim's and the San Antonio Spurs, who won five championships on his back.

On the other hand, while Garnett often gets overlooked past Duncan, he still had a hell of a career. Stoudemire gave KG his props in saying his good games were much more noticeable than TDs.

"Garnett was a little more louder. You know, if he had a good game. All the moves he had and the rebounds," Stoudemire added.

On an individual level, Tim and Kevin matched up pretty close with their numbers and head-to-head battles, but Duncan wins in a landslide when it comes to team success. If Garnett had joined the Boston Celtics earlier, he could have challenged Timmy and his Spurs a bit more.

K-Mart also picked Timmy

Kenyon Martin, another prominent power forward from the 2000s, also once weighed in on this discussion. As a defensive specialist, K-Mart was often tasked with trying to contain Duncan and Garnett, but the former #1 pick explained why TD was much more of a challenge than KG.

"Like KG, for me, was an easier guard. To your point, because, like, it was that. Like, I could make you do this because you're trying to get it off; you're going to take the shot because you're trying to get it off," Kenyon explained.

While the Garnett vs. Duncan debate is always fun, it always seems to end in Tim's favor. After all, many people around the NBA view TD as the best power forward of all time and a potential GOAT candidate. That should be no disrespect for Kevin and his career, but judging by the countless peers that faced both, it seems Timmy was just a little better.
