Stephy Curry and Klay Thompson. Kon Knueppel and LaMelo Ball.
The Charlotte Hornets victory over the New York Knicks in the regular season finale didn’t just help secure home-court advantage in the 9/10 play-in tournament game. It also put Charlotte’s dynamic duo in territory only previously reached by the Splash Brothers. The two combined for eight threes against the Knicks to become the second pair of teammates to hit at least 270 three-pointers in the same season.
Knueppel finished his rookie season with an NBA-best 273 triples, with Ball hot on his heels with 272 to finish in second place.
The Hornets don’t have a history of success in the play-in, losing by a combined 56 points in their lone appearances in 2021 and 2022. But with Ball healthy and Knueppel in serious contention for Rookie of the Year, Hornets fans will have hope this year goes differently.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Knueppel is the first rookie to finish with the most made three's in the regular season. With that being said, can you name every player to lead the NBA in three-pointers since the line was introduced in 1979-80?
