The 'Yearly NBA Playoff PPG leaders' quiz

With just under eight minutes left to play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, it appeared Donovan Mitchell was going to carry the Cavaliers to a surprising road win over the New York Knicks.

But New York blitzed the Cavs with an 18-1 run in the fourth quarter to force overtime and eventually win 115-104 to yank victory from the jaws of defeat.

Mitchell scored 29 while adding six steals, five rebounds and three assists, but no other Cavalier scored more than 15. While it was co-star James Harden who provided those 15, they came on an inefficient 5-of-16 and a frigid 1-for-8 from three-point range and six turnovers. He was also picked on at times by Jalen Brunson down the stretch, and Knicks head coach Mike Brown said the quiet part out loud about their furious rally to force overtime.

“It’s no secret, we totally targeted James Harden,” Brown said.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. If Game 1 is any indication, there will once again be a lot on Mitchell’s plate if he wants to emerge victorious from his first-career Conference Finals. With that being said, can you name the NBA Playoff points-per-game leaders by year since the NBA/ABA merger?

Good luck!
