Williams suffered a gruesome injury in the 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday ( video here). Williams’ injury also brought an emotional reaction from Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Wallace played just 5 minutes on Sunday before leaving with the injury, and he just signed a five-year, $139 million extension on Oct. 18.
Williams was selected at No. 12 overall in 2022 and Wallace at No. 10 overall in 2023, and both players have been key pieces to OKC since coming into the league.
Bennett Stirtz, the rookie from Iowa who was selected at No. 16 overall, figures to see more playing time, as does Ajay Mitchell.
