Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a tough loss to the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day. Edwards led a furious comeback late in the game to force overtime, but the Wolves ultimately came up short against Nikola Jokic and Co., 142-138.
Edwards was unable to finish the game after getting tossed in overtime. The three-time All-Star was ejected after receiving two quick technical fouls, forcing him to leave the floor during a crucial juncture. Edwards finished with 44 points on 14-of-25 shooting, to go along with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and five triples prior to his ejection.
The Wolves are back in action on Saturday night as they look to bounce back from Thursday’s disappointing loss. They will face the Brooklyn Nets at home, but Edwards is suddenly in danger of missing that contest.
Minnesota released its injury report on Friday, which included its 24-year-old superstar. The Wolves announced that Edwards is officially questionable to play due to right shoulder soreness.

QUESTIONABLE
Conley - Rest
Edwards - Right Shoulder Soreness
OUT
Shannon Jr - Left Foot Abductor Hallucis Strain
The Wolves have yet to release the full details of Edwards’ injury, which is why the extent of it remains unclear. However, the way it was described as shoulder soreness seems to indicate that this is not a serious concern for the 6-foot-4 shooting guard. Either way, it is considerable enough for him to potentially sit out another game.
Edwards has made 24 appearances for Minnesota this season, averaging a career-high 29.4 points on 49.4% shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.2 minutes per game. He’s also knocking down 3.4 triples per contest on a 40.1% clip.
The Wolves enter Friday’s matchup against the Nets with a 20-11 record and, as of writing, are fifth in the Western Conference. It will be a home game for Minnesota, with tip-off from Target Center scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
