The Timberwolves used the second-round pick exception to sign rookie guard Isaiah Evans to a four-year, $9.3MM contract, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype ( via Twitter).
According to Scotto, the first three years of Evans’ contract are guaranteed, while the fourth season features a team option.
As our breakdown of minimum salaries for 2026/27 shows, Evans will earn $1.36MM next season, $2.29MM in ’27/28, and $2.69MM in ’28/29, with a $2.92MM team option in ’29/30.
Evans was selected 33rd overall in the 2026 draft after spending two college seasons at Duke. The 6’6″ shooting guard averaged 15.0 points and 3.2 rebounds as a sophomore last season, with a shooting line of .433/.361/.860.
Evans, who was named to the All-ACC third team in ’25/26, was regarded as one of the top shooters in his draft class. He converted 41.6% of his three-point tries as a freshman and 38.0% over his two seasons with the Blue Devils.
The signing of Evans’ first NBA contract was postponed because he was involved a trade that wasn’t made official until Friday. The Nets drafted him on behalf of the Timberwolves last month.
