The Minnesota Timberwolves appeared to be cruising toward a key victory Tuesday night versus the Milwaukee Bucks. With a win, the Timberwolves would have moved into a five-way tie in the Western Conference standings.
But instead, the Bucks outscored the Timberwolves by 27 points in the fourth quarter to come back and defeat Minnesota 110-103.
After the difficult loss, Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards gave the credit to the Bucks for coming back to win the game.
"Yeah, it was hard for every last one of us who was in the game to get a good look when they went zone," Edwards said. "It messed us up.
"Big shout out to Milwaukee."
Behind the suffocating defense, the Bucks yielded only 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Milwaukee trailed by 20 points entering the fourth. But the Timberwolves scored only four field goals during the final 12 minutes, and their lead evaporated.
The quarter included a 34-3 run for the Bucks.

Forward Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 23 points while posting a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Kevin Porter Jr. and forward Bobby Portis came off the bench to tally 21 and 18 points, respectively.
With the victory, Milwaukee moved two games ahead of the Detroit Pistons for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks have already cliched a top-six spot in the conference.
Therefore, the matchup was much more important for Minnesota. In the Western Conference, the Timberwolves are 46-33, which is eighth place -- one game behind the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies.
Each team has three regular season games remaining.
