INDIANA — Indiana Pacers’ guard T.J. McConnell spoke to the media about honoring his sister, Phoenix Mercury’s Megan McConnell, ahead of the first game of the NBA Finals.

T.J. McConnell arrived wearing his sister’s WNBA jersey, something he said was special for himself and his family. Megan McConnell signed with the Mercury on June 3 and made her debut the same night against the Minnesota Lynx.
“I love my sister dearly,” he said. “I’m so proud of everything she’s accomplished, so when she made the team I was at a loss for words.”
The Pacers’ guard explained the process of getting the jersey and credited the Mercury organization for helping.
“I tried to get that jersey as quickly as I could so I could wear it,” he said. “And honor her and show her how proud of her I am.”

Megan McConnell made sure to show her brother love back by wearing his NBA jersey ahead of Phoenix’s game against the Golden State Valkryies on June 5.
The Indiana Pacers are currently tied against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 1-1, in the NBA Finals with their next game on Wednesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m.
