Paris Basketball has announced a one-year deal with T.J. Warren, according to Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews. The 32-year-old forward is heading overseas for the first time in his career after playing for four teams in 10 NBA seasons.
Warren chose Paris over more lucrative offers from other European clubs, sources tell Urbonas. He saw a chance to have a larger role with the French team and was “drawn to the location,” Urbonas adds.
Warren wasn’t in the NBA last season, but he did appear in eight games with the Westchester Knicks after joining the team in mid-February. He was effective during his brief time in the G League, averaging 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.1 minutes per night while shooting 48.6% from the field and 34.8% from three-point range. He also played 21 games with Westchester the previous season and earned third-team All-G League honors.
Warren’s last NBA action came during the 2023/24 season when he got into 11 games with Minnesota and earned a standard contract after playing on a pair of two-way deals.
The highlight of Warren’s career came in 2020 during the “bubble” in Orlando after COVID-19 interrupted the NBA season. Playing with Indiana, he averaged 31 PPG in six games and earned a first-team spot on the All-Bubble Team.
A stress fracture in his left foot interrupted his career in December of 2020, limiting him to four total games over two seasons. He was traded to Brooklyn at the 2023 deadline, but was never able to recapture a regular NBA rotation role.
