Trae Young, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Jonathan Kuminga and Coby White are considered the NBA stars who’ll “get all the attention at next year’s trade deadline.”

NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report believes Young, Antetokounmpo, James, Kuminga and White will be in trade rumors next season.

The Atlanta Hawks will not sign Trae Young to an extension this offseason. Young can become an unrestricted free agent next summer by declining his 2026-27 player option with the Hawks worth $48.9 million.

NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported on August 4 that nothing is set in stone regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks, who haven’t won a postseason series since 2022. Milwaukee has won just one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.

LeBron James will make $52.6 million next season in the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The NBA legend has a no-trade clause in his contract. For the first time in his legendary career, James is playing in the final season of his deal.

Jonathan Kuminga remains a restricted free agent with the Golden State Warriors. Most people in the NBA expect Kuminga to play next season on his qualifying offer, which has an implied no-trade clause. Kuminga, who wants to leave the Warriors, can request a trade next season if he plays on his qualifying offer and Golden State would have to honor the trade request.

Coby White will make $12.9 million next season in the final year of his contract with the Chicago Bulls. Multiple teams have tried to trade for White this offseason, an NBA executive told DallasHoopsJournal.

The Hawks and Bulls missed the playoffs last season, the Lakers and Bucks lost in the first round and the Warriors lost in the second round.
