Trae Young's Immediate Reaction to Kristaps Porzingis Trade

The Atlanta Hawks came into the offseason looking to get better in the front office and on the roster, and they've been successful so far at both. Talking about the front office, Onsi Saleh is now making the moves as the general manager, and they also added Bryson Graham and Peter Dinwiddie to the staff to help with roster decisions.

As far as the roster, the Hawks recently traded for Kristaps Porzingis, which involved the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets. When healthy, Porzingis is one of the better stretch centers in the league, and he can score at a high level. For the Hawks, he adds more diversity to their frontcourt and gives them optionality on both sides of the ball.

One player who already seems excited about the trade is Trae Young, and he shared his reaction to the move on social media.

"Welcome the to the A," Young wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This move benefits Young a lot, as he'll have more space to work with on the floor since Porzingis can shoot the ball well. In pick-and-roll situations, it may be hard for teams to guard the action, and decide on if they want to stay on either Young or Porzingis.

With how the Eastern Conference could look next season, it makes sense for the Hawks to try and push all their chips forward this offseason and improve the team. Anybody can come out of the conference, and it would not be a surprise if the Hawks were one of those teams.
