What is going to happen with the Portland Trail Blazers next season?

That’s the question that many NBA fans are asking right now as the offseason rolls on.

It’s been said before but the upcoming NBA season is very important for the future of the franchise.

If things go well, their lead player, Damian Lillard, is likely to stick around for the foreseeable future.

And if things don’t go well, you can bet that Lillard will do whatever it takes to pack his bags and move just about anywhere else.

What increases the team’s chances of winning?

One NBA fan has an idea: how about Kevin Durant playing alongside Lillard for the Trail Blazers?

Durant in Portland would make the Blazers’ backcourt one of the most dangerous in the entire league.

But let’s be honest: what are the chances of this happening?

Drafting Durant

As everyone knows, Durant is currently signed with the Brooklyn Nets through the 2025-26 season.

Yes, the Nets didn’t have the best season recently but that doesn’t mean Durant is going to be booking it.

Plus, even if he was very unhappy and demanded a trade, the Blazers don’t have enough assets to land Durant.

In fact, any deal that would send Durant to the Pacific Northwest would actually include Lillard so the chances of them playing together in Rose City are slim.

While they may not get Durant, the Blazers definitely need to do something.

They need to initiate some trades so that Lillard has more help and more of a reason to stick around in Portland.

Via some recent trades, the front office has accumulated some cash to spend so they’re hopefully planning a big deal that will make Lillard – and the fans – happy.
