When you're as bad at basketball as the Portland Trail Blazers are in 2024, it's always nice to have an entertaining social media team. While the season may not be filled with highlight plays or victory celebrations, fans in the Pacific Northwest can at the very least look forward to entertaining comments and social media posts and try to laugh through the pain of what expects to be yet another losing season.
That was the case on Tuesday night, at least, as the Blazers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves, looking to break a three-game losing streak. Unfortunately, Portland star Anfernee Simons left the game with a chest injury, and was ruled out for precautionary reasons.
When the Blazers' Twitter account revealed this, one fan chimed in, complaining that the news would ruin his betting parlay.
This was a lob for the Blazers' social media team.

In response, the Portland account quote tweeted the complaint with contact information for "1-800-Gambler," a phone line dedicated to helping sports viewers who have found that they have a problem with gambling addiction and are seeking help.
This dunk on the fan was enough to get some Blazers fans to enjoy the rest of the night.
This tweet will be the best thing the Blazers do this year. Easily https://t.co/GsldQj0fYr

It might have been enough to spark some life into the Blazers as well. Through three quarters, Portland led Minnesota 93-74, being led by Robert Williams and Dalano Banton.
With a 3-8 record coming into the night, it's the little things like this that make watching the Blazers somewhat bearable.
