While the offseason hasn’t been active for a few weeks, a former forward for the Brooklyn Nets is looking to make an NBA comeback. Rondae-Hollis Jefferson posted on X (formerly Twitter) to let the teams know that he is available and is looking to return to the league. The 6-foot-6 American-Jordanian forward hasn’t been in the league since 2021.
The last team he played for was the Portland Trail Blazers, where he appeared in 11 games. During his time with the Blazers, he averaged 2.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists on 50% shooting from the field. Following his stint in Portland, he went overseas to continue his professional playing career.
He played for a Turkish basketball league in the 2021-22 season and moved to a Spanish league in 2022. Following that, he played for the Philippine Basketball Association for the 2023-24 season. After that, he moved to Puerto Rico in 2024 and played for Mets de Guaynabo. After that, he returned to the PBA for the 2024-25 season.
RHJ left a lasting impression in 2023 during his run with Jordan’s national basketball team. Many compared him to the late Kobe Bryant during the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Now, he wants to return to the NBA and potentially secure a spot on a roster. He’s open to a workout and has advertised his experience and what he can do defensively in the league.
“Good morning @NBA, I was wondering if any teams had a training camp spot for [a] kind chap like myself,” Hollis-Jefferson posted. “I’m like a SUV got a lot of travel miles but for the long haul(long season) you can count on me. I also keep good air flow amongst the team. I also can guard just about anyone.”

“I also don’t mind getting guys better in practice,” he added. “Pushing them to the next level. Make it tough in practice scrimmage when necessary for the core guys to be elite in game situations!”
It’s still unknown what the fate of the former Brooklyn Nets forward will be.
In his NBA career, Hollis-Jefferson spent the most time with the Brooklyn Nets. The forward was with the organization for four seasons and showed promise. In his third year with the franchise, he averaged a career-best 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 47.2% shooting.
Overall, he was a productive role player for the Nets. He appeared in 234 games through four seasons, averaging 9.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists. However, Brooklyn moved on from him in 2019, leading him to join the Toronto Raptors, where he played for one year.
After that, he played for the Blazers before he went overseas.
