Jalen Williams and Jaylin Williams share more than just initials; both had refrained from drinking beer until Sunday night. After the Thunder captured the NBA championship, they afforded themselves the license to try a cold brewski for the first time.
The latter, turning 23 later this month, did not like the taste.

J-Dub had abstained from drinking any alcohol until Sunday. When asked to reflect on winning his first NBA title, the 24-year-old had a hilarious reaction, per The Athletic's Fred Katz.
Jalen Williams was asked if he’s able to reflect on winning the title. “I just had my first drink so I’m still working on that,” he responded. Said that God has been good to him and he thought about that, “but then I had alcohol.”

The whole Thunder squad was seemingly out of place when it came to a post-championship celebration. Their locker-room celebration was subdued, and they had a tough time popping champagne.
According to Isaiah Hartenstein, Alex Caruso — the senior statesman of the team — had to teach them how to uncork a bottle. Furthermore, the players watched YouTube tutorials to learn how to pop a bubbly.
Caruso, who previously won a championship with the Lakers, revealed that it took his teammates three attempts to pop the bottles in unison. He promised they would do better next year if they could repeat as champions.
"We didn't do it all at the same time until, like, the third try," he said with a grin, via Clemente Almanza of Thunder Wire. "I tried my best to teach them. We'll get some rest, reset, try to go again next year, and see if we can do it again. We'll be better. We'll be better next year."
31-year-old Alex Caruso had to teach the Thunder—the second-youngest team ever to win a title—how to pop champagne in the locker room.

The hilarious turn of events highlights the collective youth of the Thunder — the youngest NBA champions since 1977 — and also reflects their dedication to the game of basketball. Thunder front-office head Sam Presti told "SC with SVP" that he believes in "drafting people, not players," intending to foster a team of disciplined individuals.
If the Thunder win back-to-back championships next year, they will end a seven-year trend of no repeat champions in the NBA. The Warriors (2017-18) were the last team to win the title two years in a row.
