Tyler Herro: Bucks ‘will surprise people’

Tyler Herro didn’t merely welcome his trade to the Bucks. He wanted it.

Herro said he was “kind of pushing” for a move to Milwaukee because he wanted a “fresh start” and a chance to “come home” to Wisconsin, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Herro made the comments during a SiriusXM interview with Frank Isola and Brian Scalabrine.

He also offered a prediction: The Bucks “will surprise people.”

Herro grew up in the Milwaukee area and arrived from the Heat in the trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. As Herro made clear at media day, he isn’t trying to replace the greatest player in franchise history.

He’s joining a team with a new coach, plenty of new faces and considerably lower expectations. A fresh start in his hometown sounds like exactly what Herro had in mind.
