Against all expectations, the Miami Heat have turned out to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
Ahead of their much-anticipated matchup against the Orlando Magic, the Miami Heat are currently the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 14-8 record.
While that’s a great record, the most surprising factor is that their star guard, Tyler Herro, has played in just five games during the 2025-26 season.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has done a commendable job with the current roster of the franchise. So much so that he’s a prime candidate to win the NBA Coach of the Year award this season.
Coach Spo has primarily relied on the three-headed snake of Norman Powell, Bam Adebayo, and Kel’el Ware to take care of business on both ends of the floor.
So, when Herro’s return was announced, many expected the Heat’s offense to become even better.
However, in the five games that Herro has played since coming back from injury, the Heat have been held under 110 points thrice.
On the contrary, the Heat scored fewer than 110 points just once during the 17 games that Herro missed to start the season.
For what it’s worth, in the five games that Herro has played, the organization has a 3-2 winning record.
Moreover, he’s averaging 23.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 52.4% from the field and 48.4% from the three-point line.
So, Herro’s individual performance is excellent, but his arrival has taken the ball out of the hands of other stars.
Could the Heat’s slight offensive slump be a temporary thing? Well, fans will find out as the season progresses.
